New project now asks where to keep it. Pick a folder — an external drive works — and the project and a copy of every clip you import live there together, off your system disk. Carry the folder to another computer and open it there.
The MP4 export checks its own file for exact audio and video timing once it is written. If a source can't be read, the export stops and tells you why — instead of saving a file with the wrong frames.
With MP4 footage, each frame of your export comes from the exact source frame it belongs to — including 23.976 fps and variable-frame-rate video from phones.
An option in the export dialog that decodes your sources in order instead of seeking — much faster on long projects. Off unless you turn it on, and the export tells you where it was used.
